Maschine is known world wide as an incredibly intuitive studio and live performance device that highlights the tactile elements of production and gives us a truly symbiotic relationship between hardware and software. Much like the MPC we can bang out ideas on touch sensitive pads, but the software component far exceeds the display and processing limitations of conventional hardware. Maschine inspires movement and interaction both of which are key components in successful electronic music performance and creation. This series of workshops will examine both the software and hardware components and focus on the benefits of having each. Students will build kits using the library, record drum patterns, create melodies, sequence effects with hands-on automation, and edit and slice loops for immediate playback using the pads. |
